on a pension and with a good workshop but no money but acess to much scrap materials
I got stuck in my shed and after acquiring 2 small DC motors i decided that combined they would make enough power to make a mobility 4 wheeled scooter go quite well.
So i decided to make 2 powered swing arms at the rear with a motor on each one.
the front suspension was an invention of mine that i had successfully tried many years ago on my gull winged 2 seater.
modern mobility scooter design has followed gas car technology and have made a horrible mess with some designs from the 1906 and some from 2006.
so with a clean slate I built a scooter that would be at least a bit better.

the result
2 cruise speeds of 9 kmph and 18 kmph
( twin motors in series and then in parallel connection.)
resistor control in between.
the suspension could only be described as fantastic.
taking a pot hole at 18 km ph was barely noticed and the steering geometry remained totally unperturbed.
I found that at low speed i could drive over a roadside curb and just the tiny bit of discomfort.
the front suspension controls the roll of the scooter on cornering

note the anti roll strut top right between the chassis and the upright extension of the kingpin assembly
the transmission one of two
